Traditional remedy or use:
Used to treat syphilis, skin infections, sore throats, colds. Used as an expectorant, laxative,
diuretic and
febrifuge. Used by Native Americans to treat dysentery headache, rheumatism, stomachache,
toothache, as a diuretic,
emetic, febrifuge, eye problems and to stop hemorrhages.
Comment:
Highly toxic. Can cause violent vomiting, convulsions, paralysis and possibly death. |
